Dogs miss us when we go away, but fun group provides them with enjoyable distractions. Here are a few comments from our happy clients:
“When I pick Yoso up at Anderson Acres she jumps up and down, runs around, gets into the car and then resumes the behavior I expect.”
“I’ve been boarding my German Shepherd Yoso at Anderson Acres an average of five days every six weeks for the last three years. She is 70 lbs. of bone and muscle, as well as manipulative, energetic, and determined to have her way. Other facilities that claimed to be expert dog behaviorists have returned Yoso poorly behaved, and I’d have to spend a day retraining her. When I pick Yoso up at Anderson Acres she jumps up and down, runs around, gets into the car and then resumes the behavior I expect. Yoso is highly allergic because her first vet overdosed her with distemper vaccine although now her coat and skin look great. Her current vet prescribes special food, an assortment of pills, and daily foot powdering. I know Anderson Acres is on the ball since Yoso is as healthy when she leaves as when she arrives for her visits. The complimentary grooming is a great bonus. Yoso is always happy to come to Anderson Acres and to see whichever counselor greets us. Reba, the kennel manager Lindsay’s pug, is the only dog who can boss her around.”

“The best and nicest dog kennel around. Herbie loves it!!”

She has been great, well-behaved and normal, which makes me know that she obviously had a wonderful time there.
“I just wanted to say thanks for taking such good care of Riley the Wheaten while she stayed with you for 3 weeks. I was a bit worried, she had never been there for so long, so I thought the transition home might be tough. But she has been great, well-behaved and normal, which makes me know that she obviously had a wonderful time there. We appreciate and are thankful to know she did so well and had such a good time. And my husband and I loved getting pictures of her while we were away!!”
We get to enjoy our vacations and time away.
“I wish I would have found Anderson Acres earlier. Instead of worrying about whether our dog will be sad or scared, we get to enjoy our vacations and time away. She has a great time with the other dogs and the counselors and misses them all when she leaves.”
Lots of places could keep them safe and so on, but few could show them a fun time
“There were several kennels nearer to where I live – but Anderson Acres was the one people (and dogs) were very enthusiastic about. I’m most concerned about the dogs being happy. Lots of places could keep them safe and so on, but few could show them a fun time.”
It’s a clean, cheerful, open environment
“I heard the owners had experience with Guide Dogs. When I visited the facility it was a clean, cheerful, open environment.”
Such a thoughtful gesture on their part
“I very much appreciate the emails to our laptop when we are on vacation. During our extended stay, Anderson Acres has emailed us pictures of our dog while we were thousands of miles away. Such a thoughtful gesture on their part, which makes our vacation all the more relaxing.”
The staff really care about my dog
“Staff appeared to really care about my dog. At Anderson Acres, she eats well, plays well and looks wonderful when I return.”
Not one dog barking or crying
“Your staff is intelligent, well-informed and very caring, not only toward the animals but also toward their owners. The first time I walked into the facility there were about 40 dogs and not one was barking or crying. It was amazing how much contentment there seemed to be.”
High staff to dog ratio
“Staff really seems to be comfortable working and playing with dogs, they reinforce good behaviors. High staff to dog ratio, there is always at least 4-5 staff on hand and that makes me feel that my dog is always supervised to some extent (which is probably my biggest complaint about other facilities).”
More like summer camp than a kennel
“It’s homey. I like the kitchen in the kennel, and the fact that people are in and out, and dogs wander in and out. It’s more like summer camp than a kennel. I like the group play opportunities, the hay bales and the wading pool. Oh, God, and I really like them coming home having had a bath…!”
My dog comes back happy and healthy every time
“I’ve tried other “camp-style” boarding facilities and Anderson is the cleanest, safest, friendliest, and has the most professional staff I’ve found. My dog comes back happy and healthy every time.”
My dog can play with his friends in the outdoors all day
“My dog deserves a vacation while we go on vacation. Anderson Acres is the safest place for my dog to play with his friends in the outdoors all day. A dog’s mental health is important. Spending all day and night in a kennel or isolated dog run with no social interaction is traumatic to most dogs.”
Maybe the dogs have secretly hypnotized you into waiting on them paw and paw
“We feel she is safe there and knows her way around. As she is “sight-challenged,” that is very important to us. Because you are definitely dog people who take care of them because you enjoy it. (Or maybe the dogs have secretly hypnotized you into waiting on them paw and paw).”
